A Turtles' Prayer

I stir the seas
committed to life
avoiding deadly strife
I'm a angel that flies the sea

gliding in it's deep heart
awakened to the urge
only to find heaven's law purged
by the hand of man

man ruled sought land
his laws I could not see
none spoke for me against the greed
in my hour of need

did I make war upon this creature
did I steal away his betrothed
did I take from him his birthright
to cause all this woe

who shall I seek
to guard my seed
for children yet to be
both his and mine

About the Author

The author, Northern Mornings, is from Western Canada and prefers anonimity to fame. Enjoying playing the guitar and writing poetry are but a few of his hobbies. He is very involved in working with people thru his church and other organizations. The sensitivity and sympathy for others is evident in his poetry.

God's works delight him. The silences and noises of His hand, in people, places and events of the earth. He has been a farmer, sawmiller, logger, machinist, and salesman.

Comment from the author:

"People and their hearts have shaped the poetry. I am a reporter. I try to be an honest one at that."
